Why you should believe in yourself, this Christmas.
As we come to the end of the year, we start thinking about 2026.
Reflecting on how you believe in yourself could be the best present you can give this Christmas.

my confidence story
When I first started working as a project manager, I remember feeling stress from a lot of uncertainty, unsure how things would pan out.
That feeling changed after I completed a few projects. I started to see the patterns. From then on:
- I felt calmer
- I trusted the myself more
- I worried less about outcomes
My internal question went from “Will this work?” to “How well will this work?”
get inspired by others
A few years ago, I was rethinking the direction I wanted to go in. I looked at people I admired and asked myself a simple question:
What is it about them that impresses me?
What I realised was this:
- At some point, they gave themselves permission to try.
- They had a different outlook on risk to what I had.
- They decided to believe they could do something new.
They then built on what had already made them successful.

📆 A reflection for the weeks ahead
As we head towards Christmas, here’s a five-minute reflection you might find useful:
- What have you already done that proves you can deliver?
-
What would giving yourself permission look like in 2026?
- Who do you admire, and what do you think they chose to believe about themselves?

I hope you will take encouragement to believe in yourself. Your ability to deliver your big, idea or change. Your ability to lead using projects.
Belief often comes after you take action.
We just need to believe that we can act, first.
